The Young Geniuses Program, often abbreviated as the YGP, was a program at Playtime Co.
Founded by Elliot Ludwig, it was used to help gather intelligent kids and have them solve unanswerable questions, while at the same time having fun.
Background[]
Not much is known about the exact content and schedules of the program. It's even unknown in which year the program started. Tattered posters promoting the program give no exact date and/or time period, neither does the acceptance letter written by Ludwig himself. However, given that the outdated Playtime Co. logo can be seen on the program's memo, the program must have started before 1976 at the latest since the Playcare Introduction video from 1976 uses the modern Playtime logo.
The fact that the letters and documents are signed by Ludwig, implicates that he (and he alone) evaluated, picked and contacted the candidates. The acceptance letter is also without any personal salutation, though it is believed to have belonged to the infamous Harley Sawyer, since he is proven to have been part of the program by the Young Geniuses Programal Letter. Sawyer is also known as the (possibly only) one who was removed from the program by Elliot Ludwig after a long-lasting and growing feud between the two. It seems that Ludwig regretted both taking Sawyer into the program (because of Sawyer's lack of humility) and kicking him out (because of Sawyer's brilliance and successes). The removal from the program caused Sawyer to feel neglected and start to antagonize Ludwig, leading to his rapidly increasing cruelty towards the experiments and his greed for more success and fame.
