Theodore "Theo" Grambell was an orphan test subject who would be turned into CatNap as part of the Bigger Bodies Initiative. His name was first mentioned in the Transcript Submission document in the Chapter 3 Interactable ARG, before his picture debuted in Home Sweet Home in Chapter 3: "Deep Sleep".

Appearance[]

Theodore was a 7-year-old boy with light skin, curly brown hair, and brown eyes. He was seen wearing a blue-and-black checkered flannel shirt in his portrait in Home Sweet Home.

Personality[]

According to documents found in the Chapter 3 Interactable ARG, Theodore was a troubled orphan who attracted his counselors' concern. Theo apparently had little to no friends at Home Sweet Home, aside from one unseen companion who Joel Sinclair initially believed was imaginary. Based on his interactions with counselors and subsequent events, Theo was skilled at stealth; he was able to steal a GrabPack 2.0 with two Green Hands before escaping Home Sweet Home at "night" without getting caught by Security, as well as being able to break into Joel's office during the latter's lunch break.

Story[]

When Playtime Co. was still active, Theodore Grambell was notorious amongst the staff thanks to his apparently-imaginary friend, who frequently encouraged him to sabotage Playtime Co. In the Chapter 3 Interactable ARG, a self-portrait can be found. Whilst Theodore is drawn in purple, the bed he sits on is black with a skeletal arm emerging from below - revealing Theodore's "imaginary" companion as none other than Experiment 1006: The Prototype.

One day, Theodore received instructions from 1006 to open a maintenance door in Playcare using a stolen GrabPack 2.0 and a Green GrabPack Hand, potentially with the intention of allowing the orphans to escape. However, due to his young age and lack of expertise, Theodore was electrocuted by the Green GrabPack Hand and needed immediate medical attention. Joel Sinclair and Thomas Clarke discussed the incident over the phone, eventually concluding that Theodore's apparently-imaginary friend was responsible, as the maintenance door required two people to operate. Thomas also claimed to have seen Theodore's friend.

Despite Theodore's injury, his rebellious activity continued, eventually leading to his transformation into CatNap. Like Boxy Boo, CatNap was created with a specialized goal in mind: to put the children at Home Sweet Home to sleep and prevent any orphans from escaping Playcare.

Trivia[]

  • Theodore was confirmed to be 7 years old in the ARG.[2]
    • With this in mind, he would have been around 22 years old at the time of the game, if he was still alive.
  • The photo used for Theodore is a picture of Ben Rooker, a sound designer and writer for Mob Entertainment, as a child.
