The Hour of Joy is a VHS tape featured in Chapter 3: "Deep Sleep". The tape features footage of the events that transpired during the incident of the same name that lead to the factory's closure. It is presented to The Player by Poppy Playtime after CatNap's death.
Plot[]
After The Player diverts The Red Smoke and powers the Gas Production Zone, Poppy appears, showing them a tape containing CCTV footage of what happened to the company's staff, an incident the toys call "The Hour of Joy." She then inserts the tape into the VHS player. The tape starts with showing name of the incident before switching to the camera footage of several employees walking in the Main Lobby. Once 11:00 AM EST had struck, the Bigger Bodies Experiments went on a rampage. Huggy Wuggy began to ambush and attack everyone in the room. The next scene shows the Game Station, with Mommy Long Legs beginning her attack on the employees by grabbing them and lifting them up, then dropping them from lethal heights.
The scene switches to an employee running into the Water Treatment from a swarm of Mini Huggies and Mini Critters, eventually getting presumably devoured by them. The scene changes to an employee in the School running from Miss Delight and her sisters into a room after being cornered by them in a hallway. The scene then cuts to Kissy Missy's relocation to Playcare and attacks some of the employees while transporting her, then she chases after another employee who ran away when she attacked the other employees near her.
Then Boxy Boo is shown devouring employees whole and continuing his rampage elsewhere. After, CatNap is shown walking in the center in the Playcare with the floor covered in human bodies while throwing someone into the stairs of the Counselor's Office. The tape shows a few other rooms, now covered in bodies after the massacre. Finally, it switches to the exterior of the Poppy Room, ending with static.
Theorizing[]
It might have been that The Final Log VHS tape took place in The Hour Of Joy, since there are screaming, banging and alarm sounds during The Final Log. However, it's still unknown who killed the Scientist in the VHS.

- There are an estimated 172 bodies shown during the end of the tape, with the implication this is only a fraction of Playtime's total staff.
- The tape confirms that Boxy Boo is canon to the Poppy Playtime universe.
- It's likely that the CCTV footage was originally going to appear in the Chapter 3 Interactable ARG, as the 8/8/95 footage was archived and password-locked.
