The company and the factory on the same page[]
I find it really odd that Playtime Co. and its midwestern US factory (since apparently there's more) are seamlessly merged here, and if its on purpose, then it's not handled well. Many parts of the article seem to bounce back and forth between the company and the factory.
The lead paragraph states it was "an American toy-making company" with "a long line of factories that was built in 1930" (they were definitely not all built at the same time, especially since the newspaper in the gallery merely states the company was established in 1930), and that The Hour of Joy had it close on 8/8/1995. However, had what close? The company, the midwestern US factory, or all of its factories? The formatting here is really off. PurpleResources (talk) 17:25, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, I think I'm figuring out how the two work. PurpleResources (talk) 01:39, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
Company and Corporation[]
Today, I found out there are more uses of Playtime Corporation other than the line in PSA 'Big Spider' (Employee Confidentiality Agreement and Playtime Co. Memorandum), giving more reason as to why that was added to the lead. So I retract my overreaction to that.
However, 8/8/95 Emergency Alert and the Playtime Co. News Coverage - the latest uses of the company's full name - show it's still officially Playtime Company. While Playtime Corporation is evidently another name, I don't think it should be used outside of transcribing the subject.
I'll most likely include "sometimes referred to as Playtime Corporation" in the lead soon. PurpleResources (talk) 01:39, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
