Simon Smoke[2] is one of the Nightmare Critters, a group of eight characters created by Playtime Co. who presumably serve as the antithesis of the Smiling Critters. He is presumed to be featured in Chapter 4 as an antagonist.
Appearance[]
Simon Smoke is an anthropomorphic dragon, characterized by light reddish-orange scales that complement his long reptilian tail, thin eyebrows, and expressive black eyes, which have triangular eyelashes and (like the other Nightmare Critters) are furrowed into a permanent glare. His features extend to white wing membranes, an underbelly, and ears (the insides of which are white), while a touch of crimson red graces his talons, mane, and wing bones. He houses yellow tail spikes and two curved horns, and he wears a yellow rectangular earring on his left ear. In line with the other Nightmare Critters (and the Smiling Critters), Simon sports a perpetual wide grin with a darkened inner mouth but possesses four white fangs on either side of his mouth. A black necklace gracefully adorns his center, showcasing a captivating yellow dollar sign pendant.

According to his character description, Simon Smoke is the popular kid of the Nightmare Critters. An egotistical, pompous individual, Simon frequently gloats about his numerous accomplishments or shows off to his friends. Staying popular and being number 1 in everything is what motivates and drives him in life. Rarely are his accomplishments matched or surpassed by anyone else's, further inflating his ego. It is this popularity that keeps the other Critters from discovering the truth: Simon is nothing more than a monstrous bully, one who has masked his true nature for years.

- He is the second Critter to be a mythical creature, the first being CraftyCorn.
- Simon's scent of wood smoke could be a reference to the fact that dragons are known to breathe fire. Even though wood smoke is additionally proven to be hazardous to your health.
- His pendant, a dollar sign, could be a reference to how many medieval dragons like to hoard treasure.
- He is the first Critter to wear a second accessory, that being his earring.
- Simon Smoke could be inspired by characters from Dragon Tales, because they all wear a necklace with a symbol on it that are called "Dragon Badges."
- His last name on his official release card from Mob Entertainment is spelled "Smoke". However, his name in the corresponding trademark by Mob Entertainment is spelled "Smokes", leading to a controversy with no known cause.
- There is a similar controversy with Allister Gator's name.
- Although his overall design resembles a western dragon, he possesses a pair of ears, which originates from Chinese dragons.
- Simon Smoke, Baba Chops, Rabie Baby, Allister Gator, Touille and Maggie Mako are the only Nightmare Critters to have visible teeth.
