| — School description from Playcare's Map, Chapter 3: Deep Sleep | ||
The Schoolhouse,[1] or School, is a location seen in Chapter 3: Deep Sleep of Poppy Playtime.
This location was one of the five main buildings within Playcare, intended to be an educational institution dedicated to teaching the orphans basic subjects. This is also where Miss Delight and her sisters used to reside in to teach the orphans.
Appearance[]
The School resembles a large school building. The red walls has subtle, faded patches and a slight 'worn' look, suggesting the school has stood for a while, but the painted flowers on the roof and giant crayons maintain a whimsical, childlike charm. Instead of plain red brick, the walls are textured to resemble stacked building blocks or even have a subtle felt-like texture, reinforcing the toy factory setting. The blue outlines on the windows and roof have a smooth, plastic sheen, and the painted flowers on the roof are faded and chipped.
The different colored handles on the two blue doors could be more than just decorative, the giant crayon pillars are subtly arranged in a specific color sequence. The windows with blue outlines aren't just clear. Each pane of glass has a slightly opaque, frosted section with a different. The stout belltower isn't just a belltower; the giant bell inside is noticeably cracked and slightly rusted, suggesting it hasn't been rung in a long time, adding to the eerie atmosphere of an abandoned school and the Boxy Boo mailbox can be seen near the entrance.
The School’s interior appears to be abandoned inside. The white walls, though adorned with painted flowers, are coated in a thick, undisturbed layer of dust, made visible by thin shafts of light piercing through grimy windows. The eyes on the Playtime Co. lockers aren't just painted; they are subtly angled or designed to give the illusion that looks like they are watching the player as they move down the hallway and the numerous of Smiling Critters posters can be seen. In a larger, deeper section of the school, the combined Bron, Candy Cat, and Boxy Boo banners are seen arranged around.
Gameplay[]
| “ | Okay, make this quick. Turn on the generator, leave, and plug the school's power cord into the center. Be careful in there, I don't think I can connect to you on that side of the dome. And you won't be alone. There's someone else in there too. They're not your-(static) | ” |
| — Ollie | ||
Once plugging in the Home Sweet Home’s power source in Playcare, Ollie tells The Player that they should now head to the school. When they first enter the Schoolhouse, Ollie warns them that they are not alone before being cut off. Soon, Miss Delight starts talking through the School’s PA systems, warning The Player to leave because CatNap will not be pleased to see them here. The Player ignores her and travels deeper into the School.
After they turn the power back on, Miss Delight bursts into the generator room, damaging the generator then chasing The Player through dark corridors and classrooms, only moving when they look away from her. When The Player reaches the final exit of the school, Miss Delight suddenly charges after them. The Player then pulls a lever and Miss Delight tries to stop herself but fails and gets crushed by the door.

Trivia[]
- It’s possible that this School only taught Chemistry and Science, as the words “SCIENCE” and “CHEMISTRY” appear frequently throughout the area. Additionally, Miss Delight's cardboard cutout reveals anatomy facts about human organs.
- The narrow field of subjects is likely due to the prevalence of scientists at Playcare.
- Even though the player fails to restore power to the school due to Miss Delight destroying the generator, there is still a power chord out front. Although it is useless and purely decorative.
