The Power Sockets are gameplay mechanics used within the Poppy Playtime games.
These mechanics are used to transmit and receive electricity and are utilised for many of the games' power-related puzzles.
Appearance[]
Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze[]
The transmitter Power Socket has four rectangular bars, two horizontal (top and bottom) and two vertical (left and right). In the center is a sphere containing a large striped border in yellow and black, slightly faded. Inside this sphere is a background with a small white border surrounding an orange pin. Above the circle, there is a white rectangular trapezoid containing a white circle with number one.
The receiver Power Socket is square-shaped and gray in color, with two small thin rectangles at the bottom and two other thin wide rectangles at the top, both also gray in color. The central rectangle of this Power Socket has a black border with screws at the four corners, while the smaller rectangles at the bottom have two screws and the wide ones have only one each. Inside the central rectangle, there is another rectangular border with four screws in each corner, containing a circular border with a dark gray filled circle, two circular lines surrounding ten screws, and a small bright orange sphere surrounded by gray. There are two symbols in the lower left corner with the number two and a warning.
This Power Socket model was used up to Chapter 2: Fly in a Web.
Chapter 3: Deep Sleep[]
The transmitter Power Socket in Chapter 3 has some differences compared to previous chapters. The vertical rectangles, which were once white, have become a unified color with the horizontal ones, filled with gray. The colors of the circle are less saturated, especially the orange pin, which contains a small light red circle and is surrounded by black. The stripes on the edge have a wavy style, and the trapezoid, which used to be white, has been filled with gray, and the symbol for the number 1, which used to be white with a white circle around it, has had its color changed with the same circle, which has been reduced in size. Several threads can also be seen coming out of the left side above the rectangular trapezoid.
The receiver Power Socket also has less saturated colors and similarities with the transmitter. This socket has thinner edges compared to the previous model. The bottom support, which was previously a smaller rectangular shape, has been replaced with a triangular shape, and the thin rectangles at the top have been lightened in color; between these rectangles is a set of wires coming out of the wall. The central rectangle has been darkened, with the black line and the edge of the center circle being replaced by yellow and black wavy stripes. Inside this circle, there is a light gray circular layer that surrounds a black circle inside it, and in this circle is the faded orange pin. Below the central square, there are two yellow and green wires emerging from behind the receiver, as well as a number two in the center.
This Power Socket model was reused in Chapter 4: Safe Haven.
Green Hand[]
The green transmitter Power Socket has a hexagonal shape, with a striped edge in green and slightly faded dark green. Inside, the background is gray, containing a small parallelepiped from which a small wire emerges that is connected to a black square inside another hexagon, which in turn is white. In this square there is a green circle with a short border and a smaller circle in the center. Underneath the black square is another wire that connects it to three small devices integrated diagonally: a rectangle with a red square inside and two more small squares, ending at the top of the hexagon on the right.
The green receiver Power Socket has a triangular shape, with a striped edge in green and dark green that is slightly faded. Inside, the background is also gray, but contains a small integrated device on the left from which three small wires emerge that are connected to another triangle, which in turn is white. In this triangle there is also a green circle with a short border and a smaller circle in the center. Underneath the triangle there are two identical interconnected devices with a rectangular shape and a red square in opposite corners. On the left side, the integrated device is connected by a bar that connects the corner of the triangle. On the right, the device is connected by two small squares by means of a wire, ending its path in the other corner as it passes over the second small square. It is supported by a rectangle with two layers, one very short and the other wide below it, and two feet, both black in color. Above the main triangle, there is a wide vertical square containing a flat rectangle on top, which is supported by another slightly wider horizontal rectangle.
Usage[]
The transmitter Power Socket provides power when The Player uses their GrabPack to conduct it. After that, they pass through the Power Poles, with no interruption along the way, and reach the receiver, causing it to activate the power in a certain place.
The green transmitter Power Socket is used by The Player when using the Green Hand to temporarily conduct energy for 10 seconds until it reaches another receiver, causing the same activation effect in other places.

Trivia[]
In some cases, the green receiver Power Sockets marked with hands can be found.
