Poppy Playtime is an upcoming live-action horror film based on the indie-horror game, Poppy Playtime. It will be produced by Mob Entertainment, Legendary Pictures, and Angry Films.[1] Initially, it was stated the movie would not follow the game's storyline and instead feature a separate plot.[2]

On April 27, 2022, the Mob Entertainment Twitter account revealed that a movie adaption of Poppy Playtime would be developed in partnership with Studio71.[3] The article they linked to the announcement doesn't reveal much, although Mob Entertainment and CEO Zach Belanger claims "We are so excited to deliver the next chapter of our game and beyond excited to work with Studio71 to transform Poppy into a feature film. It’s going to be a great ride!"[2]
On January 22, 2024, Zach Belanger revealed that he would be meeting up with movie studios for the movie.[4]
On May 9, 2024, Mob Entertainment revealed that they will be partnering with Legendary Entertainment, who will be producing and developing the movie, along with Don Murphy and Susan Montford from Angry Films.[1]
The film will presumably be distributed by either Warner Bros. Pictures or Sony Entertainment.
