Marcas Brickley Reprimanding (Potential Problem) is a VHS Tape recording found within Chapter 2: "Fly in a Web" of Poppy Playtime. The tape can be first obtained while going through the Cart Corridors. The tape plays an interview between Marcas Brickley and Leith Pierre about an encounter Marcas had the night prior to the interview.
Location[]
Plot[]
The tape plays with Leith asking Marcas if he can record the conversation, which Marcas agrees with a nervous tone. It seems to be common for employees to be nervous when being around Leith, with Rowan Stoll being another example. Leith continues by asking Marcas exactly what he saw.
Marcas explains to Leith that he was about to go home for one night before realizing he left his wallet in the cafeteria. As soon as he realized this, Marcas ran towards the cafeteria to get his wallet, but stumbled upon a mop handle lodged under the innovation wing gate. Seeing as how it was potentially dangerous, Marcas attempted to grab onto the handle before it started moving on it's own. Marcas decides to take a peek beneath the gate before encountering a odd figure described as "fifty feet long with a thousand legs".
Leith is skeptical of Marcas' claims, stating that Marcas may have mistaken the figure for a series of people walking. Slightly offended, Marcas refuses this claim, and insists that he saw what he saw. Leith asks if he has told anybody else about the incident besides him, and Marcas denies it. Leith, still skeptical, tells Marcas that he would simply skim the security system. In a fit of rage, Marcas explains that skimming the security system wouldn't fix the issue at hand. Leith concludes the interview by kicking Marcas out of his office after stating that the company makes toys and not monsters.
As Marcas lifted himself off the seat he was sitting in, Leith asks him to fetch him coffee before backtracking and telling Marcus to leave his office for a second time.
Theorizing[]
The tape doesn't directly state what the figure roaming around the innovation wing was. However, with the simple description of "fifty feet long with a thousand legs", it is likely that the figure was PJ Pug-a-Pillar. This would not, however, explain PJ's motivation behind stealing the handle from a mop.
This tape also implies that most employees weren't aware about Playtime Co.'s Bigger Bodies Initiative.
Audio[]
Leith Pierre: "Mind if I film this?" Marcas Brickley:"Oh, not at all sir." Leith Pierre:"That's what I like to hear. So, Marcas, what happened?" Marcas Brickley:"You see, I was heading home for the day when my ape arse realized that I left me bloody wallet in the cafeteria. So, I'm running through the lobby...And that's when I see it. A mop handle lodged under the innovation wing gate." Leith Pierre:"So what'd you do, Marcas?" Marcas Brickley:"Well I just thought I'd nab the bloody yoke and be on me merry way." Leith Pierre:"And?" Marcas Brickley:"Well, I'm reaching for the thing, and the mop handle jolts on its own. Had me scared stiff. I thought I was the only one there. S-So I took a peek beneath the gate and some massive bloody thing was dodderin' about the bloody hallway!" Leith Pierre:"Thing? You're sure it wasn't a person?" Marcas Brickley:"Ain't no person that's 50 feet long with a thousand legs." Leith Pierre:"Marcas, you're losing me. Maybe you just saw a bunch of people walking by." Marcas Brickley:"Look, it wasn't people! Alright? I haven't a bloody notion what it was but it wasn't human." Leith Pierre:"Hmm...Who have you told about this? Besides me, obviously." Marcas Brickley:"Just you, sir. Obviously." Leith Pierre:"OK, I'll have security skim the cameras and take a look." Marcas Brickley:"What?! There's a massive bloody... Monster! Skimming ain't going to get rid of it!" Leith Pierre:"You're out of line, Marcas. We make toys, not monsters. Now come on, get out of my sight. Actually uh, grab me a coffee will you? Actually never mind, get out of my sight." (Marcas lifts himself off the chair and leaves the room, the tape then ends) |
