Jimmy Roth Interview is a VHS Tape recording found within Chapter 2: Fly in a Web of Poppy Playtime. The tape can be first obtained after entering Water Treatment. The tape plays a recorded interview for Playtime Co.'s lead marketing expert, Jimmy Roth.
Location[]
Plot[]
An interview between Jimmy Roth and an unknown employee working for "BPNN" is seen interviewing Jimmy regarding his skills in marketing and his role in the rise of Playtime Co. The interviewer introduces Jimmy before asking how did he contribute to the rise of Playtime Co.
For the next few seconds, Jimmy rambles about specifically toy names and how adding the "E" sound to any marketable toy will always result in maximum profits. Jimmy lists examples such as Huggy, Mommy, and Jimmy even comments on how Elliot did it back with Poppy.
The interviewer attempts to say how this could work, however Jimmy Roth completely interrupts the interviewer and starts rambling about the interviewers favorite color being blue. The interviewer, however, comments with his favorite color being green. Jimmy quickly concludes the question by explaining that Playtime Co. should better be known for their marketing instead of their mascots.
Theorizing[]
Jimmy Roth's marketing method, although odd, presumably initially wanted to keep it a secret. After informing the interviewer about it, Jimmy Roth quickly backtracks on his statements - preventing the interviewer from processing what he just revealed. The tape is presumed to be an intentionally-cut fragment from the entire interview.
Audio[]
Unknown Interviewer: "Jimmy, your work as Playtime Co.'s chief marketing officer has skyrocketed the company's profits. How do you do it?" Jimmy Roth:"Y'know, it’s not what you'd expect. It's the little things most people don't even think about. Like, take names for example: Surprised people haven't realized this. Jimmy Roth:"You take the 'E' sound, slap it onto the end of a name." Jimmy claps his hands as he yells “BOOM”. Jimmy Roth:"You’re making bank. Huggy, Mommy, even Elliot was doing this way back with Poppy." Unknown Interviewer:"I guess I kinda see what-" Jimmy Roth:"BLUE. Blue is huge. I'm telling you- What's your favorite color, I bet it’s blue. Right? It’s blue?" Unknown Interviewer:"It’s green." Jimmy Roth:"Ok well, You’re a special case, most people would say blue. Jimmy Roth:"But seriously, marketing is not as easy as you think. I mean, I make it look easy. If there is anything Playtime Co. should be known for, it’s not toys. It’s marketing." (End of Tape) |
