Huggy Wuggy is a returning character from Poppy Playtime, being one of the three selectable monsters for Project: Playtime. He is described as a natural-born killer with an inhuman combination of brute strength and quick speed, and he currently has two abilities to his disposal.

Description[]

Vicious and terrifying, Huggy is not a monster to be trifled with.

This monster is a natural-born killer. He uses brute strength and his quick speed to catch his prey before hugging them to death.

There's more to Huggy's strategy than may meet the eye,,, he has eyes everywhere. He will place Mini Huggies in his territory to help watch over everything. If these Huggies spot anything out of place, they will scream to alert him, and Huggy will arrive in seconds.

This Huggy appears to be a living, giant version of the famous Playtime Co. toy. The toy was created in 1984. Along side with his female couter part Kissy Missy was just created one year after Huggy. In recent years, a giant statue was placed in the factory's main lobby, but it appears he was far from inanimate.

ASSESSMENT: Avoid at all costs.

Abilities[]

BabyHuggy
Wuggy Sentry
Description Huggy Wuggy places a small version of himself, acting as an alarm. You can see which Wuggy was triggered, alongside screeching whenever a Player runs past them. Up to 5 Wuggies can be placed.
Cooldown 15 seconds
Strategies
  • You can place the Wuggy sentry near Puzzle Pillars to alert Huggy Wuggy when a Survivor is attempting to complete a Puzzle.
  • Another example includes small corridors and vents, you can actually place the Wuggy sentry in the Vents, and placing the Wuggy sentry in small corridors will result in the Survivor either being forced to go through the other Wuggy, or take a longer route.
  • You can place the Wuggy sentry over or around any Feeding Pit deposit, which can alert Huggy if any survivors are trying to revive their teammates.
  • Finally, if you are using the Shutdown sabotage, you can place a Wuggy sentry at one or both generators to be alerted when a Survivor is attempting to reboot it.

Charge
Charge Hug
Description Huggy Wuggy aggressively rushes on all fours, giving him an immense speed boost for about 2 seconds. Can be used as a offensive move by running into an opponent, which will result in an instant jumpscare despite health.
Cooldown 30 seconds
Strategies
  • It is best to use the charge offensively to eliminate Survivors, as the move can instantly kill players no matter their health. Make sure to get a clear path in order to actually ram into the Survivor without running into any high ledges or barricades.
  • Using the charge as a mobility move is a viable solution, although using the move as mobility is difficult considering the fact that the rush is hard to control.

Gameplay[]

Huggy Wuggy is one of three antagonists featured in Project: Playtime. He possesses aggressive tactical abilities that allows him to catch Specialists off-guard with ease. However, due to his height, he cannot crawl through small spaces and must crouch to enter ventilation shafts, which significantly slows him down.

Huggy Wuggy currently has two abilities that offer various strategic options. His first ability, Huggy Sentry, allows him to deploy a Miniature Huggy toy, which will alert him when another Specialist enters its vicinity. These sentries are primarily effective when placed inside ventilation shafts, near Puzzle Pillars, exits, or other prominent areas, especially tight hallways. However, they only notify Huggy if a player has previously been in the area and do not indicate the current location of the Specialist or whether they have left the vicinity.

Huggy's second ability, Charge Hug, allows him to rush forward in a straight line. While this move can serve as a mobility boost, if he collides with another Specialist, he will eliminate them instantly, regardless of their health. However, Specialists can counter this ability by reacting quickly and dashing away from Huggy's line of sight.

History[]

Monster Tutorial[]

In the Monster Tutorial for Project: Playtime, it is revealed that Huggy Wuggy plays a vital role as one of the selected toys assigned by The Prototype to act as a source of food to the smaller, more vulnerable experiments such as the Wuggies. These creatures are fed with the remains of the Resource Extraction Specialists, employees hired by Leith Pierre to be sent into the monster-infested factory and its attractions in an ill-fated attempt to revive the Bigger Bodies Initiative.

Specialists Tutorial[]

During the Specialists official job tutorial, instead of Leith Pierre being the instructor, it is his assistant Micath Pierciado. Huggy Wuggy can be seen roaming around the area as the hostile entity. After obtaining the Toy Parts, it is stated that "feeding time" has accidently began and it was scheduled for noon. It is stated to stay away from Huggy Wuggy for 10 minutes while Huggy makes chase with the numerous survivors around the area. During the time, the player must use a series of Grapple Handles and Dash Handles to escape Huggy while also reviving your teammates from the Feeding Pit. Eventually, it is impossible for the player to outrun Huggy and you are sent down into the Feeding Pit. Eventually, you are sent back up from the pit and you escape from the tutorial room through the Playtime Express alive.

Huggy Wuggy's First Appearance In Survivors Tutorial

In the legacy version of the Survivor (prior name before the release of Phase 2: Incineration) tutorial, Leith Pierre was the instructor. For training purposes, you are the only person rather than a series of employees. After being introduced to the Puzzle Pillars, a Toy Part manifests just around the corner into an Office with an open Crash Door. Huggy Wuggy's infamous roars can be heard on the other side, and Leith Pierre instructs the player to close the door while he walks past the wall.

As the player pulls down the toy creation mechanism, the player finds themselves trapped in the room as Huggy Wuggy can be heard entering the room. The player is ordered to enter a Port-A-Lounge sitting in that room and to hold their breath in the room as Huggy passes the room. Just as the player's coast seems clear, Huggy dashes towards them as they leave the Port-A-Lounge and drags them into the Feeding Pit, where they are subject to the Wuggies. The player finds themselves enduring the Wuggies once more, however they are shortly recovered by an employee named "Bill". You, Bill, and another employee Johnny, all escape the tutorial area through the Playtime Express.
