Grapple Handles tutorial, PROJECT: PLAYTIME


The Grapple Handles are gameplay mechanics used within the Poppy Playtime games.

These mechanics allow players to grapple around locations with ease and are often utilised for general gameplay along with chase scenes.

Appearance[]

The appearance of Grapple Handles may vary depending on the environment, but in general they have a handle that is supported by two materials, usually rectangular in shape, at each corner.

Usage[]

The Grapple Handles are often situated over large gaps that would otherwise be obstacles to The Player. By firing a GrabPack at one of these handles, they can swing over a gap. Gaps are never non-traversable, but they do allow The Player to avoid dangerous situations.

Reliability[]

In the main game, it can sometimes take a few seconds for The Player to start grappling directly upwards, allowing more time for an antagonist to catch them. In PROJECT: PLAYTIME, Grapple Handles have a two second cool-down after use, so another Specialist following will be unable to use them.

Countering[]

In PROJECT: PLAYTIME, The No Escape sabotage will disable Grapple Handles for the duration. Subsequently, the No Pack sabotage prevents the player from shooting their GrabPack to grab the handle in the first place.
