The Gas Production Zone is a location seen in Chapter 3: "Deep Sleep" of Poppy Playtime. It is the production area for The Red Smoke and where to control its direction.
General appearance[]
Entered via a door in the back of Playcare's dome, the Gas Production Zone is a large room where the Red Smoke is produced. In the center is a giant machine with a terminal with three tubes, which control the destination of the Red Smoke. Found in the backrooms of the zone is a sludge-like liquid known as Poppy Gel. A smaller room contains the GrabPack 2.0 and the "GrabPack 2.0 Prototype" tape. An elevator in the far left of the room leads to the Safe Room. A doorway to the left leads to the Hatch Room.
Gameplay[]
The Player uses the key Ollie sent to enter the Gas Production Zone, where they find the Red Smoke in the machine's right tube. Ollie instructs The Player to use the machine to make the smoke go left, so they can "get to him." The Player acquires the GrabPack 2.0 and restores power to the machine, putting the smoke in the center tube. CatNap then kills the power to Playcare, stopping The Player from finishing their objective.
After The Player redirects the backup power from Playcare's buildings to produce a blue battery, they return to the Gas Production Zone to restore its power, only for CatNap to chase them into the elevator for the Safe Room. After dispatching CatNap at the room, The Player returns to the Zone to power the machine, where they successfully direct the smoke to the left.
