The Experiments were projects of Playtime Co., initially conducted to see if poppies (or poppy based materials) could revive, or transform organisms. Some experiments failed, with the organisms remaining unresponsive, but some succeeded. Later, biological giant toys and other toy creatures were created by Dr. Harley Sawyer (until he became an experiment himself) to provide free labor and these creatures were known as Bigger Bodies.
This article contains information on all the known experiments that Playtime Co. created, including ones from the Bigger Bodies Initiative and those created prior.
Experiment 814 was the 814th experiment conducted by Playtime Co. Experiment 814 was a rat that was killed then submerged in poppy gel to prove that organisms could be revived with the use of poppy flowers. Once they had attempted to revive the rat, it remained unresponsive. After completing this procedure, the author of the experiment report had the thought of using a larger organism to get better results.
Experiment 1006 was the 1006th experiment conducted by Playtime Co., having been created sometime before or during 1989. Experiment 1006 was a male test subject who later became known as The Prototype, a mysterious entity with an unprecedented amount of intelligence and an interest for violence. The steps done to create this experiment are unknown, but he ended up succeeding as the "prime example for the type of vessel [Playtime Co.] were trying to create."
Experiment 1007 was the 1007th experiment conducted by Playtime Co., most likely having been created around 1989. They were the next experiment following The Prototype, possibly meaning they possess similarities to their predecessor.
Experiment 1015[]
Experiment 1015 was the 1015th experiment conducted by Playtime Co. and the first known experiment created by Harley Sawyer. The identity of Experiment 1015 is currently unknown. It was deemed a failure, as it showed little brain function following the procedure.
Experiment 1026[]
Experiment 1026 was the 1026th experiment conducted by Playtime Co. The identity of Experiment 1026 is currently unknown. Following the procedure, 1026 was alive for a total of 45 minutes, but only during three of those minutes did it display awareness of its surroundings.

Experiment 1354 was the 1354th experiment conducted by Playtime Co. Experiment 1354 was a male test subject known as Harley Sawyer or "The Doctor". Experiment 1354 is a set of organs (lungs, heart, and brain) stored and kept functional within Vital System Centers scattered around the factory. With the ability to travel through the facility via screens, he would occasionally appear as an eye, which would change shape and color depending on his mood. He had the ability to control the prison facility by using the Omni-Hand. He also had control over several mechanical vessels, which allowed him to physically move around. He is known to be very sadistic and likes to toy with people who are at his mercy.
Experiment 1391 was the 1391st experiment that was conducted by Playtime Co. It displayed disorganized behavior, confusion, thought disorder, memory loss, and catalepsy. The experiment was mostly catatonic and would not respond well to stimuli. The experiment would eat if food was placed in its mouth and sometimes respond if called by their test subject's name, though responses were rare.
Experiment 1467[]
Experiment 1467 was an experiment conducted though it is implied that their experiment number was misremembered. They are mentioned in the Orientation Notebook, but little is known about them.
Preceding the Bigger Bodies Initiative, this experiment does not yet have a defined experiment number, but since she is Elliot Ludwig's daughter, she was probably the first success when converting a human into a toy, though at the time, they most likely didn't know how they did it. She is a petite doll with white skin and red hair.
This experiment does not have a defined experiment number, but it is presumed she is the 1172nd experiment conducted by Playtime Co. She was a test subject placed into a large version of the toy known as Kissy Missy, a tall, slender creature with pink fur. She is very sweet and benevolent, but can show her ruthless side if faced with hostility. She was assigned to work in Storage B and was later transferred to Playcare for unknown reasons.

This experiment does not yet have a defined experiment number. Riley was an orphan who entered Playcare in August 1994 at age 12, following the death of her parents. Riley initially felt like an outsider due to most of the other children having arrived at the orphanage at a much earlier age, noting her feelings and memories in journal entries that can be found scattered throughout and around the Toy Graveyard. Her later entries reveal that she was given a shot, after which her “skin opened up like flower petals” and she saw “a man who looked like a doctor digging around inside [her], taking things out.” After this, she found that everything hurt, and her body was not hers any more, noting that she had been turned into an experiment. She was later transported to the prison. Her remains are seen within a cell room.

Experiment 828 Recording
Experiment 829 Recording
Considering the idea of one test subject being chosen each week by Dr. Bruno White, November of 1990 seems very tight, with at least 17 experiments being produced within just 20 days time. However, it is possible that most of the experiments in between simply involved testing of the Elastic Plastic, as in the Experiment 1188 Bigger Bodies Proposal document, it is noted that the material was still being tested, and was not ready for use.
Though not confirmed, it is possible that earlier experiments involved the testing of Playtime Co.'s products and/or the chemicals and materials. It is important to note that in the Orientation Notebook, there is a progress report written on the Red Smoke, highly implying that it was also considered an experiment.
The smaller creatures could possibly be created through a repeatable process, which is why they wouldn’t be considered "experiments", as there was nothing experimental about them. Said repeatable process could be related to embryology, which was mentioned three different times in the Chapter 4 Icepick ARG.[1][2][3]
