The Chapter 5 Cinematic Trailer: Welcome Home is a cinematic trailer for Poppy Playtime's fifth chapter. It was uploaded onto Mob Entertainment's YouTube channel.
The trailer shows Poppy Playtime running in fear following the ending of Chapter 4: Safe Haven, only to be found by a new character: Lily.
Analysis[]
The trailer begins in a dark place where only a timer can be seen on a rock, with its minutes and seconds being at zero and its light flashing ten times along with the sound of beeping, probably a reference to the explosives set by The Prototype in Shelf Ventilation Block B6. The scene cuts to a wind tunnel where Poppy Playtime is running desperately.
As Poppy runs, The Prototype's voice is heard saying "It's time to come home." As soon as she reaches the end of the duct on the left side, she stops and hears The Prototype say again "Poppy, it's time to come home." As this happens, Poppy becomes apprehensive while the camera pulses until she goes to the right side. When she is about to go through an exit with a damaged vent cover, The Prototype's legs appear to block her while she hears "I'm going to find you." Thinking of another alternative, Poppy looks for another path on the right side where there is a dark red light.
As Poppy runs towards that side, she hears Doey the Doughman's voice repeat something he said to her at Safe Haven: "We're not just things gone wrong, we're people." This is either The Prototype mimicking Doey or Poppy remembering his words. Shortly after this, when Poppy approaches the dark red light at the end of the right path, a creature emerges to attack her, but she manages to dodge it. After that, The Prototype is heard saying "It's always been about you... and me... Poppy" as she turns back and continues running, saying "Stop it!" The Prototype's voice continues: "What we are..." but she falls through a vent grate and lands in an unknown purple room. As Poppy slowly wakes up from the impact of her fall, Lily, surprised, says "Oh... my... goodness!", and when Poppy is fully awake, Lily tells her "We're going to have... SO MUCH FUN!". As Lily's feet touch the ground, her braid points toward Poppy while she laughs.
The trailer ends by showing Chapter 5's availability to wishlist on both Steam and Epic Games and then the Mob Entertainment logo.
