Mommy Long Legs Commercial VHS[]

A VHS tape is heard being inserted into a VCR. The video's brightness adjusts to show a dimly lit room. An outstretched plastic arm in front of the camera leads to a pink, spider-like object hanging from the ceiling. From here, Poppy faintly and occasionally whispers "Wake up."

It then abruptly cuts to black, with a distorted face appearing for a split second.

  • "PLTM COMM ARCHIVE

  • Narrator: "With Playtime Co.'s new patented Elastic-Plastic, you can stretch, pull, and twist Mommy Long Legs in the craziest ways!"

The narrator's speech is accompanied by stop-motion clips of a Mommy Long Legs toy being transformed and walking toward the camera, which then cuts to her falling on it.

  • Narrator: "She loves watching you play. When you're having fun, she's having fun."

Cut to an ending photo of Mommy Long Legs and her package. Consumers are warned not to expose the Elastic-Plastic to extreme temperatures.

The video distorts before the narrator finishes the slogan. It cuts to black before showing a blurry shot of Mommy Long Legs in the dark. It then shows a distorted shot of the playground and a video of a cameraman running down a dark hallway at the Playtime Co. factory with a flashlight.

  • Poppy: [whispering] "Wake up..."

While a sound rises, Poppy's face fades into view as indiscernible images of a forest and play area at the factory appear. It then only shows her face for a moment.

CHAPTER 2

Opening[]

The Player reawakens in the unlit Poppy Room, with Poppy now absent from her case. They backtrack to find stacked furniture blocking the way to the catwalks, but the closet blocking a door has fallen over. The Player creaks open the door and proceeds down a dim hallway with murals of Huggy Wuggy and Bron. At the end, they hear Poppy.

  • Poppy: [whispering] "This way..."

The Player enters a junction with a locked gate to the left and a door for Elliot Ludwig's office. They enter the hallway on the right to find that a portion of the floor has sunk.

  • Poppy: "Keep going..."

The Player uses their GrabPack to swing across the floor using a handle above. They find a cutout of Huggy Wuggy at the end of the hallway.

  • Huggy Wuggy Cutout:
    • "[laughs]"
    • "Does someone need a huuug?"
    • "Gimmie a biiig squeeze."
    • "I promise I won't bite."
    • "Come closer, friend."
    • "I'll squeeze you until you... [static]"

Using their GrabPack, The Player removes barrels blocking a door to find the Poppy Key. They use it to unlock and enter the vintage office of Elliot Ludwig, where the "Elliot Ludwig Biography" VHS tape is found. Drawings sent by kids decorate the walls. The Player opens and enters a large vent in the back of the room and descends into a storage-like area. They're startled by a box falling from a platform, revealing Poppy.

  • Poppy: "Oh! Uh, sorry! I didn't mean to scare you. I was just... trying to get the power back on! Here."

She steps to the side to reveal an electrical outlet. The Player uses it to power a receiver on their level. Poppy applauds them.

  • Poppy: "Ahem. Um, I wanted to thank you for freeing me. I was stuck in there for so long! Thank you. I'd like to pay you back!"

She walks into a vent next to her. Her voice is heard through the wall.

  • Poppy: "There is a train station nearby. It needs a code, and I have it. We're gonna get out of here."

She reappears in an opening next to the big vent.

  • Poppy: "As soon as you... get on up here! Hmph!"

If The Player stalls:

  • Poppy: "Come on..."

Later:

  • Poppy: "...While I'm still a doll! Hehe..."

Later:

  • Poppy: "Uh... don't you wanna come with me? You're making me sad."

The Player uses a handle to reenter the big vent and returns to Ludwig's office. Poppy appears in another vent.

  • Poppy: "Hey, I'm up here! I see you...! [laughs] I should be able to follow you through the vents. This way!"

The Player returns to the locked gate, where scanners requiring both GrabPack hands are now powered. Opening it, they're met with a bottomless chasm. Poppy is heard humming ahead. The Player swings across the chasm and enters a room with several locked gates. Poppy stands by a large hole in the floor. She stops humming and turns to face The Player.

  • Poppy: "Listen. I'm going to need you to trust me-"

A pink arm emerges from the hole and snatches Poppy, her scream echoes as she descends. The Player jumps in after her and finds themselves in a long slide.

Game Station[]

The Player exits the slide labeled for Elliot Ludwig and sees the locked entrance to the Game Station. They enter a power room and complete an electrical puzzle to open the gate. They walk down a hallway to another locked gate. Before The Player scans their Red Hand to open it, the pink arm grabs it from above.

  • Mommy Long Legs: "[gasp] A new playmate!"

The arm rises, snapping the cable between the GrabPack and the hand. Mommy Long Legs—the culprit—descends from the darkness.

  • Mommy Long Legs: "It's been so long..."

She lowers her right arm to reveal Poppy as her hostage. Webbing on her mouth prevents her from speaking.

  • Mommy Long Legs: "Isn't this exciting, Poppy? [imitating Poppy] Very exciting, Mommy! [normal] Mommy heard that Ms. Poppy was going to just give you the Train code to escape. Now how is that fun? Instead, why don't we make a game out of it? The Game Station is still working. It will be just like old times. [imitating Poppy] And if you win all three games, I'll give you the Train code! [normal] Mommy loves that idea, Poppy! Ooo, you're going to have so much fun. Head to Musical Memory and Mommy will get things started. Obey the rules, or I'll tear you apart, and eat your insides while you're still alive. [giggles]"

She laughs as she retreats to the darkness, taking Poppy with her. The locked gate automatically opens. The Player passes by two murals of the Game Station and Playtime Co.'s mascots and pulls a giant lever to open the final gate to enter the Game Station. Lights turn on to illuminate the massive room containing a playground and the Train. A cutout with Mommy Long Legs and Boogie Bot only plays static. At the platform where the Train is, The Player finds a blinking control panel and a cutout of Kissy Missy.

  • Kissy Missy Cutout:
    • "Preparing for departure in three... two... one! Choo choo!"
    • "Chug-a chug-a chug-a chug-a choo choo!"
    • [faster] "Chug-a chug-a chug-a chug-a choo choo!"
    • [faster] "Chug-a chug-a chug-a chug-a choo choo!"

The Player pulls the first of three levers on the panel. A recording plays over the speakers.

  • Stella Greyber (recording): "Hi, kids! Welcome to the Game Station! I'm Stella, and we've got three super-duper fun games to play! These little tests show us just how crazy strong and smart you are! Follow Mommy Long Legs down the stairs, and we'll start by playing Musical Memory! See you in a bit!"

At the entrance to Musical Memory, lights illuminate the sign and a large hatch opens, allowing The Player to proceed. A jammed gate forces them to take a detour through a hole in the wall, and after traversing a tunnel, find themselves in the Molding Room. They pull a lever to turn on the lights and find a VHS tape labeled "Green Hand Tutorial" on the molding machine's control panel, which explains the Green GrabPack Hand's ability to temporarily hold electricity to power receivers.

On the control panel, The Player presses the first button that dispenses white balls into a container, which are then heated to melt into a liquid. The Player then fixes a pipe to prevent the liquid from spilling out before pressing the second button that sends the liquid to be molded into GrabPack hands. Five hands are placed on a conveyor belt to be painted, but upon pressing the third button, the dispenser displays "NO PAINT IN MACHINE". Lights turn on to reveal a staircase behind the machine, and a door on a conveyor belt opens allowing a container with green paint to roll out above. The Player goes upstairs to load the container into the machine and presses the third button again to successfully paint the hands. Pressing the last button, the hands are rolled out from the dispenser and The Player grabs one of them, giving them a right Green GrabPack Hand.

The Player charges the hand using a nearby outlet and powers a receiver to open a door on the conveyor belt. A vent gets them to the other side of the jammed gate, where they're met with a cutout of Bunzo Bunny.

  • Bunzo Bunny Cutout:
    • "I know when your birthday is~! June 28th. [laughs]"
    • "Make a wish...!"
    • "Happy birthday!"
    • "♪ Oh, happy birthday! Oh, happy happy birthday! Oh, happy birthday, happy birthday to youuuu~! ♪"

Musical Memory[]

The Player steps onto a platform in the center of a tall room. The bridge leading to it lowers and the entrance closes. Bunzo hangs in a tube above The Player, wielding cymbals. Three large conjoined screens turn on and display a tutorial video.

  • Narrator (video): "Welcome to Musical Memory! This advanced memory and cognitive recognition test is designed to stimulate several segments of the brain, allowing us to see how quickly and efficiently your brain works."
  • Narrator (video): "A sequence of colors will be shown, and you must recreate the exact sequence using the buttons around you. Bunzo will slowly lower towards you. When you complete a color pattern correctly, Bunzo will rise back up. When you input a pattern incorrectly, Bunzo will lower towards you faster. If Bunzo reaches you, your test is over."
  • Narrator (video): "The test will become more difficult as it continues, with longer patterns in quicker succession. That's all. Good luck!"

The video freezes on Playtime Co.'s slogan momentarily before the screens shut off. Mommy Long Legs appears in an observation room above.

  • Mommy Long Legs: "Oh, isn't it amazing? Mommy hasn't seen the place up and running in years! Mommy can only imagine how excited Bunzo must be."

Bunzo lowers toward The Player.

  • Mommy Long Legs: "It's been such a long time since he's been able to play, to cheer, to eat..."

He crashes his cymbals three times.

  • Mommy Long Legs: "Oh! That's the dinner bell! Good luck."

Bunzo returns to the top. The first round of Musical Memory involves four colored buttons appearing in front of The Player (in a randomized order): red, blue, green, and yellow. The Player quickly recreates the given sequences on the screens as Bunzo ominously crashes his cymbals above. The Player moves on to the second round, with the quicker succession becoming apparent. At the end of the round, a fifth color, violet, appears behind The Player. In the third round, orange and white appear, followed by buttons with symbols in the fourth round: "J" "❤" and "π".

Then, in the fifth round, various buttons with symbols and colors appear above The Player, with an impossible endless pattern given to them. A shutdown button circles the platform, which The Player presses to end the game. Bunzo ascends out of sight.

  • Mommy Long Legs: "Oh... it broke. That's no fun. (pause) For doing such a splendid job, Mommy has decided to give you... part of the code for the Train. Look up."

Mommy's hand appears from the tube above, holding part of the Train code The Player takes. Her hand retracts back to her.

  • Mommy Long Legs: "Mommy was hoping the game could last a little longer... It's okay though. Mommy knows other ways to play with you..."

She leaves the observation room. The bridge rises and the exit opens, but the former collapses as The Player crosses, forcing them to enter a vent below.
