Can you hear us? Can you see this?, otherwise known as VHS Tape #1, is an unlockable tape that can be found in Project: Playtime. It was first seen after Project: Playtime's launch, where it could be found in the Screening Room alongside a VCR and a television. During the tape, Boxy Boo’s box can be seen.

The tape appears to be black. However, when playing the said tape on the TV nearby, Boxy Boo can be seen hiding in his box in the middle of the screen.

Harley Sawyer, also known as the Doctor, talks about how Playtime Co. is failing due to declining profits, lack of safety, and the constant threat of a lawsuit. He pitches the idea of the Bigger Bodies Initiative, claiming that it will solve these problems all at once. He requests to be put in charge of the project. It's currently unknown who he was talking to.
The video cuts off at the 1:13 mark, being replaced with text being typed out on the screen. A group of entities have reached out to the Specialist, wondering if they are trustworthy. They decide to send them a "gift" to test them. The Specialist is told to keep everything they heard a secret, and that the Bigger Bodies Initiative will fail.

- Reducing the playback speed to 0.25 and rapidly pausing the video reveals two secret messages at two marks. At 1:34, the hidden text reads: "SAVE US SAVE US SAVE." At 1:57, the hidden text reads: "A PAWN AND A SACRIFICE."
- It's speculated that the communicator is The Prototype, with the other voices being the monsters that were grafted onto his body.
