| “ | Know what we get in the North? Things. Whatever they are, they aren't people anymore. Their cells might as well be cages. | ” |

Break Time is a VHS tape recording found within Chapter 4: Safe Haven of Poppy Playtime.
The tape records a conversation between two security guards, Norm and Cole Vaughn, in The Shelf. During the tape, a transportable cell can be seen.
Location[]
The tape can be obtained at the left side of the initially-locked room near the train at the Shelf Station, on a metal shelf. The VCR player is located within this same room.
Plot[]
Two guards who are currently on break, Cole from the North and Norm from the East Prison Blocks, talk and debate on who has it worse - the North side where the toys don't seem to be human anymore and act like ravenous animals, or the East side where the toys who are conscious bang on the walls and scream out for trusted figures. Before their debate can continue further, they hear some loud banging and screeching, prompting both of them to complain about having it rough.
Audio and Transcript[]
Norm:
"Hey Cole." Cole:"Hey Norm." Norm:"Two o'clock, huh? Best time of the day." Cole:"Yeah..." Norm:"So, uh, what block are you again?" Cole:"North." Norm:"Can't say I hear much about that one." Cole:"You wouldn't." Norm:"High security?" Cole:"HIGHEST security." Norm: "Tt. Cushy... Know what we get in the East? Toys banging on the walls, crying for their parents, their counselors, whatever. It goes ALL day and night... And it just wears on ya, ya know? I'd KILL for a little security. And quiet." Cole:"Right. "Sure, but at least then it's not like yelling at your own kids for them to be quiet though, ya know? I mean, if you have to listen to them-" (Loud banging and screeches can be heard in the background) Norm:"Oh, great..." Cole:(Exhales) "So much for our two o'clock." Norm: "Yeah, we really do have it rough, don't we?" |
Trivia[]
Both Cole and Norm are aware that the toys are kids, meaning this conversation must have occurred after Cole's discussion with Stanley and the former's discovery of the experiments' true identities.
