— Allister Gator's twitter intro |
Allister Gator is one of the Nightmare Critters, a group of eight characters created by Playtime Co. who presumably serve as the antithesis of the Smiling Critters. He is presumed to have been made into a toy by Playtime Co. and might be featured in Chapter 4 as an antagonist.
Appearance[]
Allister Gator is an anthropomorphic alligator, characterized by lime green scales that complement his long reptilian tail and expressive black eyes, which (like the other Nightmare Critters) are furrowed into a permanent glare. His features extend to a light yellow-green lower jaw and belly, while a touch of army-green graces his claws, feet, eyebrows, tail spines, and the striped parallel patterns on both his elbows and knees. In line with the other Nightmare Critters (and the Smiling Critters), Allister sports a perpetual wide grin with a darkened inner mouth but possesses alligator teeth. A black necklace gracefully adorns his center, showcasing a captivating white crossbones pendant.
Personality[]
“ | Allister's an all-around lazy guy. He's chill, sure, but if he could, he'd spend ALL DAY in the water doing pretty much nothing. He isn't a fan of the whole "put in effort and see that effort rewarded" bit. He's much more a believer of the philosophy: "Good things have to come to me... Eventually. I just need to wait around for it". (He's STILL waiting). | ” |
— Allister Gator's character description[1] |
According to his character description, Allister Gator is the slacker of the Nightmare Critters. He possesses a laid-back attitude and is often coerced by his friends to participate in activities, but he lacks drive and ambition. If given the chance, he would happily loaf off in a body of water and do nothing productive for a full 24 hours. He is a firm and devout believer of the philosophy: "Good things come to those who wait". The only time Allister puts effort into something is if his friends actively force him to.
Trivia[]
- Allister's sandalwood scent could be a biographical reference to how crocodiles and sandalwood trees are indigenous to tropical environments.
- The scent of sandalwood is used traditionally to relieve stress and anxiety, which fits Allister quite well as he lacks anxiety or a drive, choosing to be still and laid back instead.
- It was believed (in ancient times) to help guide souls to the afterlife.
- He was the fourth Nightmare Critter to have his description revealed on Twitter (X).
- Allister, Maggie, Simon, Poe, and Icky are non-mammals; being a reptile, fish, dragon, bird/avian, and an amphibian respectively.
- His first name on his official release card from Mob Entertainment is spelled "Allister". However, his first name in the corresponding trademark by Mob Entertainment is spelled "Alister", leading to a controversy with no known cause.
- There a is similar controversy with Simon Smoke's name.
- Both his species of choice and last name are identical to those of Montgomery Gator from Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach.
- Additionally, Montgomery was also shown to be quite lazy; according to some messages, he didn't show up on stage a few times.
- Also, Allister seems to have some sort of claws (judging by the artwork), and so did his Security Breach counterpart.
- Allister Gator, Baba Chops, Rabie Baby, Simon Smoke, Touille and Maggie Mako are the only Nightmare Critters to have visible teeth.
- Allister Gator, Baba Chops, Touille, and Maggie Mako are the only critters who display a specific type of bone in their pendants. In Allister Gator's case, his pendant is a crossbones.
